Art Conservation
Conservation and restoration work is undertaken with the purpose of preserving an artwork and improving its overall appearance. When done correctly, it can give a work a new lease of life.
Artwork conservation is a specialist job. In our work we are often asked about restoration for artworks and precious objects. We are adept in identifying works that may require treatment, and recommend treatment be undertaken when we receive works that appear tired, dirty or otherwise worse for wear.
As framers and art installers, our work provides preventative measures against further damage such as conservation framing and conscientious placement for works, however we leave cleaning, stabilising and repair of artwork to qualified professionals.
We can recommend a number of highly trained art conservators who can clean, repair and restore works of all manner of materials, including paper, photographs, paintings and sculptures and ceramics. We can also assist with safely transporting large and vulnerable works to conservation studios based further afield.
